The GALCIT Shop consults, designs and fabricates mechanical models, instrumentation, and maintenance parts for the instructional settings and research facilities at Caltech. We can work from pencil drawings, blueprints, or CAD files. We provide Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machining services using Virtual Gibbs to generate mill and lathe programs. Simply put, we transform rough concepts into a functioning reality.

Our consulting services include referrals to outside shops or other campus resources should your needs not align with our capabilities.
